This role-modelling effect can be amplified by celebrating team members who manage their workload effectively while maintaining boundaries, reinforcing that productivity and well-being are not mutually exclusive.

While organizational policies and leadership behaviors are crucial, individual self-regulation remains a central pillar of burnout prevention. Employees in remote or hybrid setups benefit from deliberate spatial and temporal boundaries—for example, having a dedicated workspace and adhering to consistent start and end times. Even symbolic transitions, such as a morning walk before starting work or an end-of-day routine, can psychologically reinforce the separation between professional and personal roles.

In addition to structural boundaries, cognitive and emotional regulation strategies play a role in sustaining resilience.
