Wellness Apps and Digital Health Tools

Wellness apps and digital health tools have become integral components of contemporary workplace wellness programs, offering scalable, accessible, and personalized solutions for promoting employee wellbeing. These technologies span a broad range of functions, from tracking physical activity and sleep patterns to delivering mindfulness exercises, nutrition guidance, and stress management resources (Cowan et al., 2013). When thoughtfully integrated into organizational wellness strategies, such tools can enhance employee engagement, support behavior change, and contribute to improved health outcomes and job performance. This article examines the theoretical and empirical foundations for using digital wellness tools in the workplace, explores their potential for fostering sustained wellbeing improvements, and discusses considerations for effective adoption.
